HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2014

Hi guys, it's me, that girl katie, The Holidays sure are a busy time and then add being sick this past week and all the emotions I am feeling because of the loss of my sister this past Spring its actually a bit surprising I pulled off all these decorations. But I did for the continued traditions and memories that my sister and I had growing up but now for my kids to enjoy.

Watching my kids light up for the magic of the holidays is pretty amazing and a priceless gift. So, other than enjoying the holidays through my kids my other wishes for 2015 are lot of good health and fun laughter!

Best wishes, that girl katie

WINTER WREATHS 12.11.14

Hi guys, it's me, that girl katie, I love a good-looking wintertime wreath! Here are 6 wreaths that caught my eye this Holiday Season.

Source:

1.Olive & Cocoa 2.Women's Day 3.Women's Day 4.Southern Living 5.Dot & Bo 6.Good Housekeeping

Can you guess which one I purchased for my front door?

Someday I would like to make a wreath and my mom did just that when I was a kid.

Can you believe all the detail? I am not surprised back then she and her friend made the local paper.

My kids love to look & touch it. Of course I tell them to just look.

I am not surprised they love it, as do I. It is a huge part of our holiday decorations, thanks Mom!

I have a special love for DIY family heirlooms and I am so thankful to own it, at least for now but I guess I need to make one so both my kids have a special wreath to hang in their home someday.

What family holiday heirlooms do you decorate your home with?

Happy Holidays!

TIS THE SEASON FOR HOLIDAY DECOR 12.4.14

Hi guys, it's me, that girl katie, Happy Holidays! Last year I was BOWed Out so this holiday season I wanted to add a little spice to my staircase.

Here is an easy floral DIY project that sure does make my staircase and house feel extra festive this holiday season.

The floral arrangement isn't real but I can reuse it next year. I am not a big fan of fake flowers but for me it's just more practical and I know I will get the holiday smell from our Christmas tree.

I bought these holiday ball ornaments without a plan on how I was going to decorate with them and this is where they landed until my son figures out how to untie and play with them.

I really like how it turned out. It's simple yet elegant and easy to put up, take down and store for next year.

What do you think? How do you decorate your house for the Holidays?

Tis the season for holiday decor!

PIN THE BEARD ON THE GNOME + CRICUT GIVEAWAY 11.20.14

Hi guys, it's me, that girl katie, Oh, GNOME....the HOLIDAYS are here! Are you ready?

So, this is my final project for the Cricut Design Space Star and I will admit that I have been challenged. I consider myself crafty but I never really knew about the craft world of paper. I just touched my finger into this medium and thanks to the Cricut Explore I can't imagine not having this hip machine to help me along the way. It has for sure opened the window to a lot of fun ideas that I want to produced and my daughter thinks it's the coolest thing to just watch cut.

And this month I learned I have a huge soft spot in my heart for Gnomes. Aren't they so cute?

Of course since I live in ski country I had to give the Gnome skis and poles.

Steps:

1. Gather supplies 2. Cut out all shapes on the Cricut Explore - Search "Gnome" in the Cricut Design Space 3. Attach all cut outs to paper 4. Glue cotton balls on beard cut out 5. Attach reusable tape taps on back of beard 6. Attach ribbon or elastic on mask cut out 7. Hang 8. Play

TIPS:

- I used the mouth cut out for the eyes too. I just resized it before sending it to the Cricut Explore to cut out.

- For me finding the "search button" on Cricut is confusing. You have to of created a "new project" in the Canvas. In the Canvas there is a button on the left "insert image". Once you press "insert image" a bunch of images pop up and there is also a "search button". When you find what you are looking for insert it into your canvas project and don't forget to always save your project.

Supplies:

- Paper - Vinyl Sticker - Cotton Balls - Ribbon or elastic (for the mask) - Reusable Tape Tabs (for hanging + for the back of the beard) - Spray Glue - Cricut Explore
